The University of Kentucky Political Ecology Working Group (UKPEWG) is pleased to announce that the Dimensions of Political Ecology: Conference on Nature-Society (DOPE) will be held February 27 – March 1, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.

Saturday – Dr. Bruce Braun (Dept. of Geography, Environment and Society, University of Minnesota).
DOPE 2013 featured participants from across more than 30 disciplinary/research affiliations and from more than 75 institutions located across the globe. In the largest iteration of the conference yet, 300 participants attended 47 paper sessions, three panels, one documentary, and two keynote addresses from Drs. Ariel Salleh (University of Sydney) and Arun Agarwal (University of Michigan). If you are interested in organizing a session at DOPE 2014, please plan to begin circulating your CFP on listservs by September, since conference registration will open in October (exact date TBA). CFPs should be approved by the DOPE organizing crew. Please contact [email protected] with your session proposal so we can approve it and list it on our website. Session organizers are responsible for finding a chair and, if possible, a discussant for each session. Please plan on scheduling 3-5 papers per session. We welcome CFPs for paper sessions built around theoretical, topical, regional, or methodological themes from scholars in geography, anthropology, sociology, environmental studies, forestry, gender and women’s studies, environmental science, ecology, ecological/resource economics, area studies, political science, philosophy, science and technology studies, environmental law, planning, and any other allied disciplines.
If you are interested in submitting a paper, please look through the paper sessions whose CFPs will be listed on our website in coming months. Contact the session organizer directly with your abstract and submission information.
If you want to submit a paper, but you don’t see a session that it would fit into, consider hosting your own session if you think you can find others with similar interests. Alternatively, submit your paper directly to us, and we will try to either place it in a relevant session or create a new one with similar papers.
All participants will need to register for the DOPE conference. Registration will open in October. Please check back for more information.
