This story has been picked up by various news sources and is circulating somewhat widely, but I think it deserves to be posted here too.
This version is especially haunting for the sense of dread it evokes. First the silence, then the spoiling fish, then the submerged debris. I don’t mean to claim that the anxieties of the Anthropocene are most apparent or most strongly felt at sea, but I do think they have a specific resonance there. I wish I could say more at this moment, but exams call.
