EPD’s Society and Space site has posted an interview with Monique Allewaert on her new book, Ariel’s Ecology: Plantations, Personhood, and Colonialism in the American Tropics. It’s an excellent exchange that ranges from afrofuturism to the Anthropocene, whilst centering on the “parahuman” – a disruptive human-nonhuman assemblage.
The interview, conducted by Angela Last, is available here.
Edit: Angela Last’s review of Allewaert’s book is available here.
